The fourth season of the Friends TV show was aired from fall 1997 to spring 1998, continuing the long-lasting success story of America's finest TV show.
Plot Summary
This season starts off with Phoebe discovering that who she thought to be her mother's friend is actually her real mother. Later, Phoebe's brother, Frank Jr., asks Phoebe to be a surrogate mother for him and his wife as they cannot have kids. Phoebe complies and bears triplets.
As it turns out, Chandler and Joey are both attracted to the same girl, Kathy. She dates Joey first, but when she dumps him for Chandler, the two friends have to work out some serious issues with each other. They reconcile after Chandler and Kathy break up halfway through the season.
Monica tries to make ends meet by starting a catering business that Phoebe enters into after being fired from her massage job. When Monica gets offered a job as head chef, though, she takes it to Phoebe's dismay. In the final episode, Monica and Chandler sleep with each other.
After being demoted to Personal Shopper at Bloomingdale's, Rachel develops feelings for Joshua, one of her clients who she then has a fling with.
In an attempt to do her new boss a favor, Rachel asks Ross to take out her boss' niece Emily who is on visit from London. Ross and Emily are getting along really well and before long decide to get married. Rachel is very upset about the wedding but decides not to tell Ross how she feels. While reciting his vows, Ross mistakenly calls Emily "Rachel" as Rachel watches tearfully and the minister asks "Should I go on?".
